Brazil Concert Band to honor famous composers, will perform music from the James Bond franchise on Sunday

BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO / WAWV) – The Brazil Concert Band will perform their new concert piece, titled “On With the Show,” at 8 pm on Sunday August 1 in Forest Park; the event will continue even in the event of rain.

Among the works scheduled is “Poet And Peasant Overture” by Franz Von Suppe and arranged by Henry Fillmore. The piece will feature an alto saxophone solo by BCB member Diana Joslin.

In addition, the BCB will pay tribute to composer Aaron Copland in “A Copland Tribute”, adapted for groups by Clare Grundman. Songs performed will include “Fanfare For The Common Man”, which was written to celebrate the role of ordinary people during World War II.

The group will also pay tribute to some famous film scores from the James Bond film franchise, including “Bond… James Bond” arranged by Stephen Bulla with “James Bond Theme”, “Goldfinger”, “Nobody Does It Better”, “Skyfall “and” Live or let die “.

Artie Shaw will also be remembered for his musical heritage in “A Tribute To Artie Shaw” arranged by James Christensen with “Dancing In The Dark”, “Begin The Beguine” and “Star Dust”.

This week, the concession stand will be managed by Brazil Main Street. The group will be serving a spaghetti dinner from the concession stand this Sunday.
