Members of the Brazil Concert Band rehearse for an upcoming performance Tuesday night at Forest Park.
BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO / WAWV) – The Brazil Concert Band will perform their new concert piece, titled “Marching Through the Galaxy” at 8pm on Sunday August 8 in Forest Park; the event will take place rain or shine.
The group will perform two pieces by composer John Williams, “Star Wars Medley” with “Main Title” and “Princess Leia’s Theme”, arranged by John Tatgenhorst, and “Star Wars-The Marches” with “Parade Of The Ewoks” and “The Imperial March “arranged by Jerry Brubaker. Also by Williams, the BCB will play âRaiders Marchâ from the Indiana Jones franchise.
Band members said they were thrilled to perform “A Rhapsody Of Reruns” arranged by Paul Jennings, which features classic TV themes such as “McHale’s Navy”, “The Addams Family”, “Leave It To Beaver” , “Gilligan’s Island” and “PUREE”. Based on the works of John Philip Sousa, the BCB will include âGlory Of The Yankee Navyâ and its sequel âCubalandâ, the second movement entitled âUnder The American Flagâ.
This week, the Christmas in the Park group will be serving burgers and cheeseburgers from the Forest Park concession stand. The Brazil Concert Band performs every Sunday until the end of August.
