The Cowley College Concert Band and the Concert Choir took to the stage of the Robert Brown Theater for a magnificent concert Tuesday in Arkansas City.
The Concert Band, under the direction of Dr Michael Christensen, performed Legends of the Galaxy, Abracadabra, Hocus Pocus and Gravity Wave.
The Concert Choir, under the direction of Lindsay Allen, performed songs on the theme of the Civil War. The songs were Taps, Johnny Has Gone for a Soldier, Tenting Tonight, Tell My Father, Dance for Love, Battle Hymn of the Republic and Down by the Riverside.
“Tuesday’s concert was a wonderful evening of music,” said Lindsay Allen. “The choir impressed me so much this semester and they gave a beautiful concert on the theme of civil war. I was also very grateful to have Cowley track athlete Dylan Roe join us on violin for one of the pieces; that made the song complete. I couldn’t be more proud of the choir’s performance and look forward to seeing their growth throughout the rest of the school year.
Music teacher Stephen Butler served as a collaborative musician.
