GC Huston Public School music teacher Kim Lake was delighted to receive a recent donation from the Southampton Concert Band.
John Wills, band music director, presented $500 for the school’s music program. “The Concert Band is privileged to be able to use the facilities at the Southampton School as a practice venue. Therefore, we wanted to support the promising young musicians in the program as there is always a need for instruments etc.
Lake said the donation was greatly appreciated. “We need new drumsticks, a new flute and other things, so the money is definitely welcome.”
According to Wills, the Concert Band has a busy musical season with several concerts scheduled.
