The Proman family of companies has announced that the Starlift Steel Orchestra has been renamed Proman Starlift Steel Orchestra.

Methanol Holdings (Trinidad) Limited, a member of the Proman family, has been the group’s lead sponsor for six years.

A group statement said the transition further integrates the Steel Orchestra into Proman’s sustainable local investment portfolio and aligns the company’s long-term commitment to promoting Trinidad’s indigenous arts and cultural expressions. -and-Tobago.

In its 65-year history, the Proman Starlift Steel Orchestra has been a Panorama finalist 28 times and has never missed a competition.

The orchestra has won the Band of the Day competition 21 times over the past 25 years and has been named Panorama Champions three times.

The group gained attention with their traditional mas performances and distinguished themselves from other steel bands by blending the company of mas and steelpan to create a unique combination of popular carnival expressions.
